I know. We all hate having to clean our brushes. I, for example, buy every brush I find on sale just because I like having backups, incase I don’t want to clean my brushes. I will be honest, I don’t clean my makeup brushes as often as I should. There are days where I only use products that can be applied with my handy fingertips because my brushes are way to dirty to even be near my face. This month I set as a goal to clean my makeup brushes at least once a week. Today I wanted to talk about the Real Techniques Cleansing gel.
How often should you clean your makeup brushes?
It is recommended to clean our makeup brushes every day, after using them. Cleaning them every day will help you prevent acne, avoid germs and maintain the brushes soft. Let’s be real though, we live in a world where we are constantly working and occupied. There is no time to clean makeup brushes every day, at least for me. That’s why I have a bunch of makeup brushes that I can rotate every now and then. As I said before I am trying to clean my brushes every week. I also changed the way that I look at cleaning my brushes. Instead of thinking of it like a chore I see it as a prevention method (preventing acne).
Real Techniques Cleansing Gel
The product that I use to clean my brushes is the Real Techniques Cleansing Gel. This can be found in the drugstore or online for only $9. Where I live this is the only makeup brush cleansing product that I have seen in the drugstore and its affordable. This product leaves my brushes clean and soft. (In the picture above the brush in the middle was cleansed with this product). The RT Cleansing Gel makes it really easy to clean the brushes and it does not have an overpowering scent, which I love.
